Aoi Hana – Episode 04

In this episode, you’ll get to see Fumi as she tries to balance her close friendship with Akira with her newfound love with Yasuko. You’ll also get a peek into Yasuko’s past (which serves as a clue toward uncovering the mystery of The Mistress of the Library).

I take it that’s your favorite seat?
I always spot you there from the passageway.
“Always”?

Let’s pretend I didn’t hear that.

You’ll also get to see Fumi in pigtails, which is just plain beautiful.

    Hey guys,

Just want to thank you for subbing this. I was a little sceptical at first, because there were a few issues with the first episode’s translation and transliteration, but the last few episodes have been much higher quality.

I now find myself looking forward to your releases.

    Cheers,
    Woodchips.

    > I always see you there from the passageway.
in this case, not “see” but “catch sight” or “notice” or anything like that may be appropriate.

    > Let’s pretend you didn’t hear that.
“you” -> “I”(so you might have to change “Let’s pretend” too.)
Because this part is yasuko’s confesssion to the teacher.
(scene changed suddenly. it indicates time passage.)

First point: I agree completely. “notice” would’ve been much better.

Second point: While I can say “blame the translator,” common sense on my part (moreso having read this part of the story in the manga) could just as well have prevented that.

    Thanks for being constructive.

The translator thought he was talking precisely about that first sentence “I always see you…”, but that would require a quite subtle interpretation. We will fix that one xD

The little ‘translation gone wrong’ was funny! Thanks for posting it.

By the way, you guys put “orange koe” instead of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orange_pekoe when they were in the tea room.

I guess you guys don’t drink as much tea as I do. :/

Blame it on the TL. I’d assumed it was koe and didn’t care enough to check.

Fair enough. Just as long as there’s someone to blame. :P
